To make theoretical courses more easily accessible and alleviate the burden on the instructors, Umicore asked us to create e-learnings on safe handling of equipment.
In this module, trainees are instructed on how to safely rig and hoist loads in the Umicore production environment. Using videos, animations and interactive exercises, the e-learning covers all the important aspects of rigging: understanding a load’s weight and center of gravity, choosing the correct slinging gear and accessories, inspection of the gear and the role of communication in hoisting work.
At the end of the course, the trainee’s knowledge is tested in a multiple-choice quiz. After successful completion, trainees are referred to a practical training on the factory grounds, by the Umicore instructors.
